Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit monkandseek.com, join one of our lists, message us on Instagram or buy one of our ebooks or other digital products ("Products"), why we collect it, who handles it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.
1. Who we are
Monk & Seek is a brand of Nikhil Ventures, a sole proprietorship owned by Nikhil Ramachandran, Flat A108, Patel's Green Front, Yapral, Secunderabad, Telangana 500087, India.
We decide how your personal data is used. Under Indian law we are the "data fiduciary", and under European and UK law the "controller". For any privacy question, request or complaint, email monkandseek@gmail.com.
2. What we collect, and why

We do not collect your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or bank login details. Our payment provider collects these directly when you pay.
We collect only what we need. You do not have to give us any data, but we cannot sell you a Product without your email address, and we cannot email you about launches unless you join a list.
3. Where we get your data
- From you, when you join a list, buy a Product, message us or email us.
- Automatically, when you use the website or your download links.
- From our service providers, for example payment confirmation from our payment provider, and your Instagram username from our messaging tool when you message us.
4. Our legal basis
- Consent: for our lists and marketing emails. You can withdraw it at any time.
- To perform our contract with you: to sell and deliver Products and handle refunds.
- Legal obligation: to keep tax and accounting records and to respond to lawful requests.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the website secure, and to prevent fraud and the sharing of our Products.
Under Indian law, we use your data with your consent, or for a legitimate use the law allows, such as when you give us your details to buy a Product.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing or advertising.
Apart from the cases described in this section, we share it only with service providers who handle it on our behalf. At present, these are:
- Razorpay (India): payment processing
- Vercel (United States): website hosting and analytics
- Supabase (servers in Japan): storing list and order records
- Kit (United States): sending our emails
- ManyChat (United States): automatic replies to Instagram messages
- Instagram (Meta): handles the messages you send us on Instagram, under Meta's own privacy policy
If we change or add providers, we will update this list.
We may also disclose personal data if the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect our rights or someone's safety. If the business is ever transferred to someone else, your data may transfer with it, and they must protect it as this policy describes.
6. International transfers
We are based in India. Our service providers process data in the United States, Japan and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. We rely on our providers' data protection commitments and contract terms, including standard contractual clauses where they offer them, to protect your data.
7. How long we keep it
- List email addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Purchase records and invoices: for as long as Indian tax law requires us to keep them, even if you ask us to delete your other data.
- Download logs and technical data: up to 12 months.
- Messages to us: as long as needed to deal with your request, then up to 12 months.
After that, we delete the data or anonymise it so it can no longer identify you.
8. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct or update it;
- delete it, except records we must keep by law;
- stop sending you emails (you can also use the unsubscribe link in any email); and
- withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it, and it does not affect anything we did lawfully before.
In India, you can also nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to act, and, if we do not resolve your complaint, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
In the European Union and the United Kingdom, you can also ask us to restrict or stop certain uses of your data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and receive your data in a portable format. You can complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
In the United States, we do not sell your personal data or share it for targeted advertising.
To use any of these rights, email monkandseek@gmail.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity. Someone you authorise can make a request for you if they show proof that you authorised them. We will reply within 30 days.
9. How we protect your data
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and restricted access. No system is completely secure. If a data breach affects your personal data, we will inform the relevant authority and you, as the law requires.
10. Children
Our website and Products are only for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
11. Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our payment provider's checkout may use cookies that are strictly necessary to process your payment securely and to prevent fraud. Our analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) are cookieless and count visits in total without identifying you.
12. Other websites
Our website links to other sites, such as Instagram. This policy does not cover them, and their own privacy policies apply.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and post the new version on this page. If a change is significant, we will tell people on our email lists.

We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or to your local data protection authority if you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom.
